Make your own owl-dorable toy owl! The finished owls are about 4 inches tall. They make wonderful toys for babies and children, as well as owl-loving adults!
This owl is knit from bottom to top. The base is knit flat, then the body and head are knit in the round and grafted together at the top of the head. The wings are picked up from purl stitches on each side and knit flat. The beak, feet, and eyes are made separately and attached to the finished owl; several options are given for making these, including the option for making felt features that are simply glued on.
Pattern difficulty is intermediate, but it includes explanations of knitting abbreviations and step-by-step instructions for techniques such as grafting, making it possible for even a motivated beginner to knit a cute owl.
