Handwoven Cowl (23-07)

This handwoven cowl (a loop that goes around the neck, rather than a scarf with ends you can tie together) is woven with sock yarn that is a blend of superwash merino wool and nylon, making it soft and squishy as well as warm and easy to care for (it can be machine washed if needed, though hand-washing will extend the life of the garment). The warp (around the loop) is in stripes of minty green, pink, orange, darker pink, sparkly red, white, yellow, and teal. A portion of the weft (across the loop) is in wider stripes of similar colors, but the majority of the weft is the minty green color. So about 1/3 of the cowl has a plaid effect, and 2/3 is just stripes. The fabric is hand-sewn intot the cowl loop, with one end neatly folded under and secured and the other spilling over with fun, hand-twisted fringe.

This cowl is 9.75 inches wide and 27 inches around.
